Pipe Run Properties Dialog

When placing a pipe run, the following dialog displays after the run has been placed. It allows you to create a new tag name for the run and define any properties for the run as necessary.

SettingDescription
Name Enter a name for the pipe run.
Browse The Browse button displays the Find Component dialog allowing you to search through a list of existing components. If you select an existing component tag number, the new component being placed will inherit the component properties from the existing component. You can opt to rename the tag number for the new component and still retain the inherited properties.
Reset The Reset button will reset the name to its original value.
Tag Information

The Plant related properties, (Unit, Service) can be defined by selecting a value from the drop down list next to them.

Design Conditions: List fields to define specific working conditions the component class was intended to operate in.

Select a Specification by clicking in the field to display a Browse button. Click to display a list of specifications to choose from.

Operating Conditions: List fields to define real life conditions that a component will most likely be exposed to.

State Information:

  • Validation State: Determines if the component is Valid within the P&ID or design file. Each component has validation criteria/script that is executed when the component is created or modified to determine if it has problems. Constraint Validations primarily.
  • Design State: Determines a Life Cycle state for the component. Informational only.

Flow Arrows: Allows you to define whether to Show Flow Arrows, the Flow direction of the arrows, and the Flow Arrow Location.

Select to save the tag number data to the database and allow placement of the component.

Cancel Select to close the dialog without saving any of the data.
Help Select to launch the help file for the Tag Number dialog.
